Hey everyone (if people do come by and read this)! How has everyone been? Anyone else still in the gaming scene? I pretty much removed everyone I've ever been in contact with a while back (aside from Saru, since we actually met and hung out in Chicago for a weekend), after bad brushes with depression (and having this weird hunch that Willie and Ian had this vendetta against me), but now I've recovered and wanted to reach out to everyone via here and email.

For starters, since the spam message was sent, I gave up on YouTubing. Regarding the whole depression phase, I deleted all my content as I was growing; thinking I was just going to be a laughing stock (which I am), but throughout that, I got an awesome gig, and now I own my own video game entrepreneurship. And that's where we are at now.

I've traveled to Wisconsin, Texas, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Ohio recently and have gained a significant following selling video games at conventions. I am working to either sell off my entire collection for hopefully 5 figures or sell off massive portions by July of next year, for funds to move to Florida. With this being the case, all I have around my belt is a Facebook group that I hardly ever update because I don't really go on Facebook anymore.

Recently, I was told to make a website. No forums or anything, just a website to sell stuff. Then, we had a server full of friends locally who all started their own events, like Smash Wednesdays or PC Game Nights, and want to incorporate those ideas as well. Finally, one of my friends, who was an active member of the Facepunch forums, recently told me that a forum would be a fun place to work on all of this stuff.

This is when I remembered this existed. Looking back, this site was not run very well (lol) and we could've done so much better with it. I want to create a site, preferably by the end of March, with a fully functional shop section and possibly forums. I want to reach out to people on here to see if they'd have any interest in assisting with a reboot? Whether it's just being a member or actually helping with code or graphics (definitely need some coders or GFX designers to volunteer if possible for credit), it'd be super helpful. We just started the thinking process like last week, and some of my friends who are interested and have coding/GFX experience are on board to assist.

Was thinking of PolishWeener at least who programmed that CSD way back when this site was alive-ish?

Anyway, I'm sending an email to people, and since my dumbass forgot the GGG-BOT password, I'll be checking back here for replies, if I do get any at all. If you can't sign in, email me at punkrockelite22@gmail.com and I'll reset password. Prefer discussion to be held here if people do wish to assist in this and have a more community-wide discussion in forums.

PS; Sorry TyBerns and GHF for being a massive cunt all those years ago, I was a super immature boy back then lmfao.

I was bl1i8n2k the entire time. Tenor

So the email was definitely a surprise. I would certainly be open to a new forum/community to game with. Will be following this closely.

P.S. Pretty sure Ian and I never had a vendetta against you, but I was also like 14 at the time so who knows.

Lmao this surprised me as well. I've also had quite a few life changes since the old days. Graduated college in Phoneix and now I work for a medical university in LA coding games and apps to train students. Don't really play Xbox anymore because I moved to PC. Don't make Rock Band customs anymore since I never made the jump to Rock Band 4. College gave me an addiction to memes and EDM, which I assume is fairly normal. Health-wise I've been great other than a can of Reign giving me digestive issues for the past few months.

I'm definitely in for joining a new forum. Skill-wise I specialize more in C# and Unity (to make actual games and apps) more so than web languages, so if the people you've already recruited are fluent web devs than there probably isn't much I can contribute. I have a few photo editing skills (from making memes) and I can do other random things like WebGL games and Wallpaper Engine backgrounds, but those aren't very useful for an e-commerce site. I can technically make mobile apps but Unity usually isn't the best solution if you're going for something more like a social platform.

Wow, some responses! Hopefully we'll get more later on down the road? Dope that Willie and Jesus are on board.

I already spoke to Willie so I'll reply quote by quote here for PW:

Yeah I remember you going off to college a while back for that. Working on moving to Phoenix and all that. Good for you, bro!

Really, most of us did. I don't really know anyone who has stuck around from this community who even touches their Xbox anymore.

Heh, funny you mention that, I got then itch to return to customs very recently, too, after working on mods for Project M and discussing with my friend about making a Guitar Hero game with all of our group's favorite songs. I'm still big-ish in the rhythm game scene, just not really a fan of the new gen games at all.

Eh, it would've happened anyway.

Yikes, get better soon. Drink water instead! XD

Honestly, anything can help, regarding feedback and all that jazz. I was planning on moving the code from the CSD from the other G3 Forum over here and studying off that code to write other pages in HTML. I'm not too sure how to code myself, and my friend who I'm asking to help only really knows C++ and Java, so he's not experienced all that much in web design either. I'd need a team of people willing to do code and/or GFX, and pitch ideas.

The first problem I've run into is a new name for the community. My business' name is Fox Valley Retro, but since I'm moving out of the Fox Valley area, it's going to need to be changed, and I want it integrated with a forum of gamers to really make this feel like it's a big community. Like I said in my first post, we already have Smash Wednesdays and PC Game Nights, which are normally on Thursdays but currently on hiatus because the host has been visiting family all summer and hasn't returned as of yet, and especially during Smash, people have looked at stuff I had and purchased. I basically want this to be an online game store that would normally hold events and even have a showcase for people's work in art, videos, game designs, and more. A little like how this was based around. So, basically this, but with a second-hand store as well. I don't know how legal that would be, but I'm looking into legality soon.

I might invite all my friends locally who help me out with the business to help build a community using this site first, then start the new one once we are ready and the store is all good to go. We can probably dabble with HTML while we are using this site for the next 6 months, shouldn't be that hard. I've had some experience with code, just not a lot.

If it's just dabbling in a forum platform I'm sure I can do as much (if not more) than what I used to do, time permitting. It shouldn't be too hard to find an e-commerce suite that's cheap/free, and those are usually pretty user friendly. You'll only need Javascript if you start wanting custom functionality beyond what your usual online store has. I'm not sure exactly what kind of store you're trying to make (personal, auction, users selling to users), but there generally won't be legal issues so long as the payment is secure, there's a ToS in case someone tries to scam you, and you file taxes (if applicable).

I currently have two personal projects on the backburner that need some attention once my health clears up. There's a digital board game I've been working on for 4-5 years that needs to get out the door and a meme platform that I need to complete before my Google Drive folder gets any bigger. I also have to update my portfolio and shit before the end of this year since I plan on job hunting sometime next year.

I'm impartial to participating in design meetings over Skype or Discord or whatever, but if you do decide you want me in one of them keep in mind I'm on west coast time. I'll keep checking back here every so often because I want to see if anyone else shows up, but if you want a quicker reply from me you can add me on Steam (polishweener or polish_weener, don't know which is used in search) or on Discord (PolishWeener#8810).

Request sent on Discord. If we ever do any planning I'll let you know. The only thing new to me is the shop part, since I've been delaying that for the 2 years I've been doing this due to really not having a reason to be there besides checking if a sale is made, and wanting a reason to stick around on it. Mercari has really been super lame regarding that, so I recently took everything down from it. I focus on imported video games, preferably from Japan, although I do have some American and Korean stuff. Fililng taxes and creating a ToS should not be a big problem.

E: Don't expect these users to show up, whoever most of these are, as they had fake emails, and I just got a return email including everyone's emails that I have matched here:
ComplementaryGamers
Fuzzeeeh
Midnight12345
opiumtest5
pajamaslipperlova
PeWpEwPiE
ShredderGamer
SodaDew*
supermarioturboable
TheSwishhCreations
TyBerns
watashiwa

*Kurt actually is a part of my store's facebook group -- he'll probably be up for returning anyways.

I'm going to make an attempt to reach out to Matteo, Ian, Joshb, and FP. I was bored today and actually stumbled into yet another TyBerns forum and found out that the password he used to make an account pretending to be me and using my email grants me access to the admin panel. Saw GHF got himself a new email, so I tried reaching out to him via TyBerns' random ass forum. Highly doubt we'll see him, though.

Brandon, would you like to get a hold of Matteo? I'll go for Josh and FP.

EDIT: It seems I accidentally sent the email to EVERYONE. Whoops, just woke up lmao.
